I needed a base for my spindle sander, and I figured it would be nice to be lower than a typical countertop. Well when I was buying my old Craftsman table saw from CL, he had a bandsaw that was missing a ton of parts and wanted it gone. Sooo, I took it and kept the base to use for my spindle sander. Sounded easy to just mount it, but I managed to make it extremely difficult.

A normal human would have just drilled holes in the base where they needed to be and bolted it on. Well, for some reason I thought I’d mount the sander to a piece of plywood and then mount the plywood to the base. Made sense in my head until I started doing it.

Turns out, what made it so difficult was how many bolts were used to put together the base. There was very limited space to put bolts through.

Anyway, I finished it eventually. Here’s how it turned out. Super stable, that’s for sure. And the base was just the perfect height.
