RE: 21 gallon, 2.5 HP 125 PSIl compressor:
Motor would not start. Unit has two motor start cpacitors: one 50 micro farad and one 70 micro farad. Both are not shorted but both measure zero on the cpacitance test. Used two different meters. Is this unusual? I looked at the HF parts on line and it only lists one capacitor. Part # 12384. This is an older unit. Is it worthwihle to buy new cpacitors or is it likely they failed because of some other reason?

I suppose this was innevitable. Looks pretty good. 200psi, two ports, and a somewhat quieted motor. Would make a good shop compressor if you don't need 240v driven air flow.

Been waiting for them to come out with this lineup: They're calling them "Fortress" brand, and they use the same, low RPM, dual piston pumps that a lot of the recent air compressor products have been brought to market with: All very quiet.

The new HF compressors look great, too.

Problem is, they've priced them too high. $149 for the 1/2 HP 1 gallon model, and $189 for the 1.2 HP 2 gallon model. 20% deals are not valid for these. I suspect we'll see some coupons, eventually, but there...
